Description

Done for my little brother's birthday. Coolest kid I know.
I'm such a bad influence on him, I've corrupted his little mind. Poor kid. Most recent thing I've gotten him hooked on is Soul Eater . So I bought him some presents and whipped this up for him quickly before uni gets serious. Now I just have to package it and send it to him.
He and I have a lot of fun together and I definitely miss hanging out with him, and laughing when our parents have no idea what it is we're watching.

btw if you can, watch Death Note with a 12 year old. It's hilarious.

This was made using Manga Studio Debut 4, a bit of software which he told my parents to get me for christmas. This was the first thing I have ever done with it. Not even doodles. It seemed fitting that the first thing I do on it should be for him.

Love Soul's expression and the way you posed him. I don't know much about Soul Eater, but based on your rendition, Soul Eater Evans is a cocky, confident and a professional at whatever it is he does. One thing you might want to look out for is the size of his head. Face is okay for anime, but the way you have his hair makes his underlying head look HUGE. You might be able to alleviate that by making some more hair spikes that start halfway between the bangs and the top of his head.

As for the feet - use refs or just do waist up/thighs up shots. That way it's not so obvious. Of course at some point if you want to be serious about your art, or get better at feet, you'll have to bite the bullet and just do it. Don't worry too too much about making them perfect. You can always go back and edit it later, especially if you do it digitally.

Lastly, before I forget, I agree with *Weidi92 - the stripes look fantastic. Soul looks very spiffy and fine. ^^
